Everyone assumes the move was strickly based on Cabrera, but Guillen looked worse at first base than Cabrera at third. He stepped into the first base line a few times, pulled his foot off the bag early a couple times. I thought any infielder could step in at first base, but he just looks awful there. I believe it's a good switch, and Leyland can care less what Cabrera says right now. He'd have an argument if he played average defensively this year, but he just has to go with the program right now.

It seems only natural. 3B is more like Guillen's natural position of SS, and I'm sure Miguel can handle first. I can very easily see how this will make them better defensively.

I predicted this move the moment Cabrera got traded to Det.

I would imagine that Guillen or Mcab DH until Sheff is back in the lineup and Inge plays 3B. But this is just a guess.

Rotoworld says Miggy has only played 14 games at 3B. Is this true? How many games does he need this year to qualify at 3B next year? What's the number for default Yahoo leagues?

For this year? Everyone knew that he'd become a first baseman by 2010 but thinking he'd get moved from 3b on the 4th week of the season is very surprising.
