I have Justin Germano in my Cafe league, and he basically just ended my chances at ERA this week.
Before I joined this site, I probably would have flat out dropped Germano, even though he's had a pretty good year until this start and has at least proved he is worthy of a roster spot in somewhat shallow leagues for a few more starts.
Has anyone ever dropped somebody after a horrible start, simply out of anger, and then ended up regretting it? I don't mean a slumping hitter- I mean a pitcher after ONE bad start.
"Oh, that Lankford and McGee, the trio of 'em. They're a one-man wrecking crew."
I usually only do it with fringe pitchers who are interchangeable anyways. That being said, how deep is your league that you are firmly holding onto Germano?
I have. Though only with "spot starters". I dropped Randy Wolf last year, after he got torched in his 2 starts for the week. He then had like 3 good games in a row, but then got hurt, so I didn't regret it too much. Guys like Germano, are borderline guys anyways, so unless it's a really deep league, you can probably get away with dropping him.

I don't regret it - but I cut Mark Buerhle in the middle of his opening day start this year. I never should have drafted him - been then convinced myself that starting him, as a lefty, against Cleveland would be a good idea.
Matt Cain was on the top of the Drops list the other day for Yahoo Public leagues.
I cut bait on Ian Kennedy on the teams I had him right after his last start. I make knee jerk reactions pretty frequently with guys on the fringes of roster spots. If it's someone else, I'll try sitting on it.
I dropped Morales last week after his horrible start. I'm just sick of looking at a 20+ ERA. I picked up Scott Baker who I had on my watch list anyways. He had a good start and I think he will be a decent 5th starter.

Same here. If I don't feel good about a player then I cut him. Generally these are the bottom half picks from the draft.
