So whats everyones thought on this guy? Is he worth a roster spot in a 12 team league. Seems like no one is talking about him, but he is quietly putting up some good numbers

I was thinking the same thing. His numbers are good, but I've never seen him pitch or heard anything about him.

This is his first year in the big leagues if I'm not mistaken, he came over from Detroit to the Braves
in the Renteria trade. The Braves were very high on him and made the trade for him because they had a surplus at SS.

From what I remember he was highly touted and he seems to be proving his worth now. I can see him becoming the Braves #2 or #3 next year(not sure if Glavine and Hampton will stick around/be brought back).

He got a few starts last season with the Tigers, he was dominant when on but had a few rough starts also. Had a solid spring with the Braves, and has pitched very good to start the season. He gets tired around the 5th and 6th and seems to struggle to finish out games, I imagine this will get better as his stamina builds. I would think 12-14 wins are within reach for him this season.

im drinking the coolaid.

ive been using my 21st roster spot on him in yahoo standard leagues. i think atlanta can develop him and give him some w's. the only problem is the bullpen in atl. my pitching staffs are already littered with guys like edison volquez, johnny cueto, ervin santana, micah owings, shaun marcum, so throwing in a jair jurrgens is all good. i think hell be very good for a number 5 starter.

I say give him one more start and see how he does w/ the Mets friday. If he keeps them under 2 runs make a move. He wont last past the weekend.

if you get a chance...viewtopic.php?f=26&t=339443
