It sounds like he's there to stay
This was from Yahoo:
May 1 RHP Max Scherzer was promoted to the starting rotation Wednesday morning, less than a day after retiring all 13 batters he faced, striking out seven, in his major league debut in relief Tuesday. Scherzer will replace RHP Edgar Gonzalez (1-2, 6.55 ERA) in the rotation and is scheduled to start against Philadelphia on Monday. "This is the start of what we believe will be big things for him," D-backs manager Bob Melvin said. "I'm excited to have the opportunity to go out and get wins for my team. I like pitching the best. Whatever role, I'll do," Scherzer, whose first game was more special because his parents, best friend and girl friend were in attendance. "It was a good night," Scherzer said.
Apr 30 Scherzer wasted no time in earning a spot in the Arizona Diamondbacks' rotation. Advice: The hard-throwing right-hander will start Monday when Arizona is home against the Philadelphia Phillies, Diamondbacks manager Bob Melvin said before Wednesday's game against Houston. Scherzer had no decisions in four starts with Triple-A Tucson, but the rest of his statistics were impressive. He had a 1.17 ERA, allowing three earned runs in 23 innings. He struck out 38 and walked three.
AJ gets one more shot with my team against the Sox. If he doesn't pitch well tonight I'll be moving him for Max.

Great outing last night by Scherzer, I do think that Mad Max might be better suited for the Pen this year. It would be tough to have him take on a key role in getting them to the playoffs then having to shut him down just before the playoffs b/c they don't want a Prior-like flameout by one of their best young arms.
Smoltz? Are you kidding me?
Wow, the clamor over this kid is RIDICULOUS! I'm pretty plugged into the fantasy world and I hadn't heard much to this tune, and then BOOM!
It's laughable really
Dropped the Big Unit for Mad Max. I figured with his tough start yesterday he was droppable. I had the #10 out of 10 priority and still got him. My league mates don't put much faith in Rookies, hopefully Max's time in the rotation is atleast long enough to hold me out till Smoltz gets back.
