I certainly believe that they will be more patient with Lind now that they aren't directly "competing" for the division or wild card. Wilkerson can work in some ABs in left, DH and at 1st so he will still see some playing time.

Is there any reason why anybody in the Jays organization should care about getting Brad Wilkerson at bats?

Adam Lind will get to play a majority of the games in left field, as he should. It's beneficial both now, and in the future.

I agree Wilkerson should be getting the bench, but they Jays had been so intent on playing him before Cito. I just found it hard to believe they were actually doing the right thing with Lind this time. After sending him down for Stewert to be the everyday LF... :-°

Lind was 2-5 with an RBI yesterday... It would be nice if he pulled some numbers like Ryan Church was doing pre concussion. That's probably asking a bit much because of his inexperience but I got him on the cheap from FA and would like to see that potential to keep him around for 2009.

Hits another HR tonight and broadcasters talk extensively about how much Cito loves this guy. Looks like playing time will not be a problem and he'll have a shot to really prove himself.

Perfect situation with him getting called up and sent down early because a lot of teams have given up. Time to buy low.

He has been very good even with a sb tonight:
From ESPN:
[quote]Adam Lind, OF, Blue Jays: Oh, by the way, that breakout we've expected from Lind has finally happened. If you were to project his current numbers to, oh, 530 at-bats (he doesn't walk much),here would be his stat line: .289 average-27 home runs-120 RBIs. If that's not a mixed-league stud, I don't know what is. And his current numbers include a 6-for-39 start to the season. Did I mention Lind is owned in just 2 percent of ESPN standard leagues? quote] ;-D

I dont know if he will put up those numbers but he could be productive for years

The SB was a botched hit and run combined with a terrible throw. Lind will not be stealing any bases in the majors.
