hmmm so Mota cant get it done so they bring in the old one, Brian Shouse ... do you think he's the guy? i think its looking definitely like a BBC here... they'll all be getting a few shots... i think i'm gonna stay away from this matter...

They brought in Shousa to face the lefties when Torres got in trouble. Mota was warming up to face Pujols if Shouse hadn't been able to retire Adam Kennedy. Considering Torres couldn't get out of the 9th with a 3 run opportunity, I'd say he may have squandered his best opportunity to claim exclusive hold of the job. It might be a full blown closer by committee, but I'd say Mota is the best guy to add right now.

He'll probably get the next chance to himself, and if he converts it cleanly, he may stick.

Maybe. However, I see this playing out a lot like Atlanta is right now (where no guy is even worth owning, because nobody is actually getting saves).

ya i agree...at this point id rather waste a roster spot un a rookie thats about to be called up(ie bruce, bailey, etc) then waste a spot on a closer that has a 1/3 shot of closing, then another shot of blowing it...NOT WORTH IT

Dont do it. He will just waste a spot on your roster until the allstar break. Not worth it

NOt a surprise. He wasn't removed he just said he needed a break. I thought it would be more like a week or two. Not glad I own him but glad I didn't drop him if you know what I mean. Got me a save tonight so what more can I ask for.

Izzy will be back in a week or two (or sooner) too. Nothing to panic over.

Any pitcher who a team projects as their closer for the rest of the year (not talking about stop-gap Acostas, etc) must be owned, whether its Gagne or Borowski or whoever.
