So I am currently involved in trade talks with a manger who is pushing hard for John Smoltz. He has Rick Porcello and Gio Gonzalez on his farm club, who I have been targeting in return for Smoltz. Additionally, he has stated that VMart, Chipper, and Utley are all on the trade block.

I feel as though I have come up with a decent initial opening offer. The offer I have come up with would be:
I send:
John Smoltz
Jarrod Saltalamaccia
Kevin Slowey
Rocco Baldelli

I receive:
Rick Porcello
Victor Martinez
Andruw Jones

I would much rather acquire a hitter like Nady or Blalock instead of Andruw, but as Baldelli has so much uncertainty built into his situation, I felt he might not consider the deal without involving Andruw in the offer.

I feel this offer is more of a beneficial trade for his team, as the main reason I am considering selling Smoltz right now, and not around ASB, is so that I can acquire Porcello. Without Porcello or Gio Gonzalez (or Bills or Haren), I feel that making any deal involving Smoltz is premature and not worth it at this point. Do you agree?

Please see my latest trade offer: http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=338771#p2709413

Can you help me come up with an offer that will help my team for the future?

His roster is as follows:

V-Mart is still a much better option than Smoltz in a dynasty. Baldelli's career is probably over and Bergmann isn't really worth mentioning. Salty and Jones are nearly a wash.

You would have ripped him off badly in the first deal if he took it. The second one still favors you.

I seriously doubt he takes this deal. Baldelli is worth next to nothing. Colvin is a 4th outfielder. Teahen has almost no power and has little to no upward potential. Porcello and Billingsly both have #1 or #2 potential while Smoltz is 41 years old and has already been on the DL once this season. Smoltz may have one more year at his present level left at the most. I am not a big AJones or Nady fan, but they are an upgrade over what you offered to the other guy.

Porcello simply might not be on his trade block. But if he says Utley is available then I think you should consider trying to get him. He's young and he's a top 10 player right now.

My Smoltz, Teahen, Winn, Baldelli for his Billingsley, Utley, Andruw Jones?

He has asked for Utley as part of the deal so I obliged. He rejected my previous offer, but did not leave any response to the previous offer.

This trade is even more unfair than the last one. This would probably get a veto in most leagues if accepted by the other guy.

Just try Smoltz for Billingsley straight up and see what he thinks.
