I wouldn't touch that until he played a week and stayed on the field.

Any team with a free DL slot on it should have a guy like Alou. This guy, IMO, is one of the best pure hitters in baseball over the last 10-15 years, he just can't ever stay healthy. He hit 11 HR and had like a 30 game hitting streak last year in less than 2 months. Ryan Church seems to want a playing spot though, so we'll see.

Alou will sit every 4-5 games imo. Church won't lose time to Alou though; Pagan will sit.

What do you guys think now>?

Rotowire
Alou (hernia) will join the Mets on Friday against the Braves, barring a setback, according to the New York Daily News. Alou, who began his rehab assignment Sunday by going 3-for-3 for the Mets' High-A affiliate St. Lucie, will not play Monday, but then will play three consecutive days for St. Lucie. Then, depending on how he feels after those three games, he could be activated from the DL on Friday

i like him when he's actually playing. you gotta take advantage of him when he plays because he can be on the DL the next day. in deep leagues, i stashed him and i'm itchin to use him with my weak OF.

Id hold out a little longer and see how he progresses in AAA. Willie appreciates his younger talent and the way Pagan is hitting right now hes gonna let Alou ease in the role just like how hes been handling D. Sanchez in relief. Somthing tells me that Alou is gonna go to the bench before he makes it back into the lineup.

oh yea...

Newsday reports that Moises Alou (groin) might not return until next week.
The New York Daily News said Monday that he appeared set to join the team on Friday, but the Mets are hesitant to set a return date and are backing off their original assertion. Still, the team wouldn't rule out a return over the weekend.
