hes still hitting over .300 so he has to start over izturis even when kendrick returns. wood's promotion is a little more concerning though...what do you guys think he'll do going forward? i've been intrigued by him lately because of the dual eligibility as a possible bench candidate.

I wouldn't concern myself over Wood, he is only up due to 2 injuries in the infield. He hasn't shown that he has improved at all in AAA this year to take any time from Aybar, and he shouldn't play SS at the major league level either.

Aybar is there to stay.. On the season

92 AB's, 17 Runs, 30 Hits, 12 RBI, .326 Ave..

Izturis now on the DL..I can see Aybar going 7 HR, 50 RBI, 90 Run, 30 SB, .290 on us..

Also, Aybar was a stud in the minors

548 Games, 695 Hits, 184 SB's, .311 Ave ;-D ;-D

The HR last night was definitely unexpected.....thought he was almost incapable of hitting a HR :-B

I really hope this continues, he is filling my SS hole quite nicely (drafted Greene, tried Crosby, Hardy, Eckstein, Harris, and now Aybar).

Was wondering if Aybar is a better option than Yuniesky Betancourt?

At least while their BABIP stays so high, doubt it lasts.

I am a little surprised the F Lopez has not entered into this conversation. He looks to be hitting lead-off now and is likewise 2B/SS eligable. I am under no delusions that he will replicate 2005, he seems a good bet to go .270/10/25 with a bunch of runs, which is not bad for a WW middle infielder.

I currently have S. Drew as my backup SS and Mark Ellis as my backup 2B.

Would you drop either, or both, for Aybar?

Only do that if you need SBs badly.
