Anyone worried about Braun yet?

I agree with that. Braun got drafted 1st round based on what, half a year's great numbers? I prefer to use a 1st round pick on someone with more of a track record.

Now, I'm not saying Braun won't have a great year - I'm just saying that taking someone so new with such a high pick is inherently risky...

Are there any issues with nagging injuries with Braun?

I remember reading about his achilles' tendon injury in the spring and now he is dealing with a bruised shoulder. I also remember hearing some say to stay away from him early only because of the achilles' injury that I guess can be nagging and linger for a long time. I just wonder is Braun slumping or are we seeing a product of his injuries hampering his ability to rope the ball?

I know he mashed the ball in the spring, so I would say his injuries haven't had an effect on his play, but does anyone else know more about these injuries?

I'm not worried at all. his numbers aren't THAT bad...as in not as bad as ortiz or other big hitters that are slumping. the whole lineup is slumping...once everyone starts hitting the ball braun will be fine. also keep in mind that he was in the minors this time last year so starting the season in the majors is new to him so he may not be 100% comfortable. i don't know...just a thought.

I didn't see him get drafted in the first round. He was an early second round pick.

I also remember he missed all of April last year and 3/4 of May. I am not worried at all.

Braun has mashed every season he has ever played, starting when he was 8 years old. Why would this year be any different? Not only will he put up first round numbers but he will put up top 7 numbers (.320/42 HR/130 RBI/110 runs).

I am not worried yet. I remembered his Spring Training 2007, and then added him the 1st week he was called up last year, and ended up winning my money fantasy league. I will say, I will be looking back at the end of the 2008 season, to do the "What if I would of traded Braun for Jake Peavy". The day before the season, Peavy was offered straight up for Braun and I declined the trade offer, since I have Shields, Santana, Smoltz, Felix, Liriano, Volquex, Snell, and B Bannister.
