Keeper league, 5x5...I've got the second to last pick in the 5th round, need a SS and some speed too. Kaz, Cabrera and Reyes all still on the table...Are any of these players worth a 5th round pick?

i dont really think any of those guys are worth taking in the 5th round. IMO 5th round is still "sure thing or close to it" territory. each of these guys has a few questionmarks. you can probably do a little bit better.

Is Berroa still available? I would hold off as long as possible with those options...when it gets down to 2 of the 4 remaining (if berroa is an option), I would then pick your SS.

Go for better value now and wait on your SS.

Failed to point this out, 14 team league and I'm at the back end of it (13th pick), so I'm not sure if these guys are gonna be on the table when it gets back to me

even though its a 14 team league, i'd still be hesitiant about taking these guys. we have no idea what matsui is going to do. i think he has an upside of 10-12 HR and 30 SB's. im not sure where i heard it, but didnt this guy hit like .250 last year with a bunch of K's? reyes could be great, but you can get some cheaper SB's later. Cabrera could be amazing, but i think i'd still go with a more proven commodity.

14 teams does change it in my opinion...Does the 14th mgr have a SS yet?

If you wait until the 6th round (let the 14th guy get his back-to-back picks in), you'll be picking your SS with the 72nd pick...I think Cabrera has some good value at that spot, or even w/ the 69th pick if you want to grab him now, really.

jmo though.
