Does Mike Schmidt finally know what he's talking about?

Here's an excerpt from Stark's article:

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Mike Schmidt thinks Pete Rose could be reinstated by Bud Selig "in some form" before Opening Day.

But from all indications, the next question people ought to be asking is: Opening Day of what year?

"Pete and his people are still optimistic that the commissioner is going to make a decision in short order," Schmidt said Monday, during a media session that was supposed to focus on his return to uniform as manager of the Clearwater Threshers, of the Florida State League.

I'm finding Schmidt's repeated declarations of Rose's reinstatement more interesting than anything to do with Rose himself.
