He's starting to get some starts now over Hatteburg and has been hitting well when he does get a chance. He's a guy to keep an eye on and it would be nice to see Baker give the kid a chance.
Haha, I just came here to post the same thoughts. He has started several games in a row now and after starting out slow has his OPS up to .818 while Scott is hitting 4 out of 23. I think it was quite clear that Baker wanted him to win the starting job out of spring training, but Scott was so much better in spring that Baker couldn't give Votto the starting job on opening day. I will be looking to add him as soon as I can free up a roster spot.
Votto has arrived! Grabbed him 2 days ago when I saw he was starting to get more playing time. He's going nuts against Lilly today. This could be our break-out prospect this year. With only Hatteberg in his way and him already hitting well against lefties I'm feeling good things for him going forward.
Haha, didn't wait to grab him, Joey Votto is the kind of player you make room for (and Dusty has finally gotten that message). This is your last chance to grab Votto before he becomes owned in all leagues.
Kotchman has been way too hot to just drop, no? I'd think you'd have to be find someone else to drop or be able to trade him. If it means anything to you below are PECOTA's 50% projections for both players though I'd have to imagine Kotchman gets way more plate appearances and home runs than projected, and he also may be breaking out, so I also included his 90% projections. Regardless, as you can see, Joey is a must add, 25 HR, 12SB, .856 OPS as his median production, sick no?:

I think Votto is easily on of the most under-rated prospects in the majors right now. You don't really hear about him, but the kid will hit 20+ homers this year as a 24-25 year old, and could easily hit 30 since he plays in the Great American Home Run Park.
Once Hatteburg is out of the way (which is becoming increasingly likely) Votto will make his claim to NL rookie of the year.
