Folks, I'm looking to fill a league that will be a H2H SABR league.
The main goals of the league are to learn more about SABR stats, and to identify players in MLB who are considered the best by the 'newer' statistical categories. I think this will help increase your knowledge and enjoyment of real baseball, and also make you a better 'standard' fantasy baseball player.
Of course, I also hope that it will be a competitive league in its own right.
It's a Yahoo league, with Yahoo rules and the following settings:
hitting categories: HRs, Runs, OBP, SLG, SBs
pitching categories: ERA, WHIP, K/9, K/BB, Saves
(Admittedly, it's not pure SABR stats, but I think this will be a good combo).
Min. IP each week are set at 45. This may go up a little to ensure that each team uses SPs each week. Because the pitching stats (save for Saves) are ratios, churning SPs will not be an effective strategy (I know that's a deterrent for many to joining H2H leagues).
Draft Date is set for Sat, March 6th at 10:30 am Pacific.
I'm looking for people who will stay involved (if you are a registered and at least a semi-regular here, then you are probably okay), be active, try to field competitive teams, have fun, and try to learn a thing or two.
If interested, PM me! Or you can simply post an email address. I'll be contacting people by the end of the week.
