I made up a 13 point deficit last season to nip the leader by one on the last day. Pretty sweet. Of course, I had to trade to do it. But nothing is over. We haven't really seen a major, major injury really yet. Things change.
Well, in one league as of last wednesday I had 106 points. Out of 110. 2nd place had 75. I'm at 82.5 now. Things change. Your team combines to hit 1 HR over the course of X days. Im still dominating R, SB, K, ERA, and S, but the W's arnt coming, my WHIP isnt 0.72 anymore, and I've lost a good 20 points in HR, RBI, and AVG between last monday and yesterday (before yesterdays stats I had fallen to 77.5 points). My team average after the first week was over .300, now it's a miserable .260. 9 HR after week 1, good for first place, is now 11 total, good for 2nd to last. Its still early.
I agree. Peavy and Santana, with Berkman and Holliday is pretty sick for an NL league. How did he get winning bids on ALL of those guys? Weeks is playing extremely well so far as well. 3b is going to hurt him and he doesn't seem to have a looot of depth, but still...he's got a good team. You can say some guys have started off hot for him, but you can also say that Holliday just started hitting this weekend and Johan isn't quite on top of his game yet either, so that kind of evens out.

Thats interesting that you have 109 points in a 10 team 5x5.
My thought exactly...
That's pretty impressive...maybe he got extra points for being SO far ahead of his leaguemates.

12 team league**
That makes a lot more sense...I figured it was a 12-teamer or a 6x6 league.
To O.P. - as others have said it's way too early to hit the panic button...however, as others have also said his Holliday, Santana, Peavy, Berkman combo is exceptionally strong for a NL only league...not to mention Weeks and a resurgent Tejada, so I wouldn't be surprised if he came out on top. There is a ton of baseball left though.
I've lead a league with a total of 112 points out of a total of 120. 10 team 6x6 category league.
It's almost impossible for a team in a league with quality managers to hold such a point total. Still way too early for anyone to run away with the league.
