From Rotoworld:
Apr. 14 - 8:50 am et
The New York Daily News reports that Joba Chamberlain has left the Yankees to be with his ailing father in Nebraska.
Chamberlain's father is said to have collapsed in his home Sunday night and is listed as being in critical condition. The newspaper reports that the Yankees will likely be without Chamberlain on Monday night against the Rays.
My thoughts and prayers are w/ Joba, his dad and family.

From my readings on Joba, it seems he has an especially close relationship with his father. Glad to see that Yankees are giving him time to be with his family.

Joba reportedly placed on bereavement list
From Rotoworld:
Apr. 14 - 2:01 pm et
The Yankees have reportedly placed Joba Chamberlain on the bereavement list to make room for Chad Moeller.
That's one way to do it. Chamberlain will have to miss between three and seven days, giving the team more time to evaluate whether Jose Molina (hamstring) needs to go on the disabled list.

Very sad. Young kid, he's been raised by his Dad, very very close. He's gonna be torn up inside for a while without his Dad. Very sad. I wish him the best.
