Is Bannister real?

Postby skjelstrom » Sun Apr 13, 2008 6:55 pm

Brian Bannister just got a complete game 3 hitter. Is this just a hot streak or is this the real Bannister? Sure he doesn't strike out much and he plays for the Royals with little power backing him up, but will he continue to do this or should I leave him in the FA.

He was awesome last year too, but many still dismissed him because they thought his BABIP was unsustainable. Banny talked quite a bit about his strategy this offseason and felt he could be that unique pitcher that can keep a lower than average BABIP.

After three starts this season it looks like they guy may know what he's talking about.

He pitched very well for KC last season with 27 starts. He's the real deal, with low K numbers.

My pitching staff looks like this:

SP Erik Bedard
SP John Smoltz
RP Matt Capps
RP Huston Street
P Brad Lidge
P Tim Lincecum
P Daisuke Matsuzaka
Bench Troy Percival
Bench Clay Bucholz
Bench Tony Pena
DL Yovani Gallardo

My pitching has been strong so far so should I bother with him?

Not a Pena fan, I would give him the boot for Bannister
