He's been awesome so far this year, but I don't trust him yet. He's only had one good year. I've watched him pitch several times, and he just isn't that good IMO. He gives up way too many hits. He barely made the rotation out of spring. He was horrible in ST. But he does have some nice matchups coming up, so he good have some short term value. I just don't think he's even a decent #5 fantasy SP.
So far this season, Cliff Lee is 3-0 with a 0.40 ERA and a 0.44 WHIP. And it's not like he's just getting lucky... 20 K, 2 BB and 0 HR allowed. Sabermetricians have to be loving this as well.
I know it's only three starts... but through three starts, Cliff Lee has been THE BEST pitcher in baseball. This is getting hard to ignore.
My theory is that CC Sabathia transplated himself into Cliff Lee and vice versa. It is mind boggling how a guy who stinks is pitching like a Cy Young Winner and a Cy Young Winner is pitching like a guy who stinks.

Ooh, ooh, that's it! It's Freaky Friday!
Anyhow, I'll bet Cliff Lee is worth more than the worst guy on everyone's pitching staff. Pick 'em up and enjoy the ride, folks!

His BABIP is at a measley .154!! He is getting lucky, but as I said before, he has a nice looking schedule the next few weeks, so he could keep this up for a while longer. But I'd try to trade him soon. Get what you can for him, because he most likely won't have as much value as he does right now. No way he keeps this up much longer.

The only way you can have a 0.40 ERA is if you have such a low BABIP. Obviously he's getting lucky to some degree, but you still have to pitch well. He has pretty much no trade value so he's a solid hold player at this point.
