His AVG isn't good, but he does have a current OBP over .350
I have both him and Molina right now...my league counts OBP which Molina KILLS me in..so I'm not sure who to start. Molina also has 3 bombs.
Ausmus seems to be playing a lot though, so that hurts Towles value.

Ya Towles is no doubt a good hitter i see about 475 at bats .275 17 hrs 65 rbis....and ausmus only plays once a week so it really doesnt hurt towles.

i'm happy with the homers and he doesn't seem to strike out much, so I'm counting on a nice average (for a C at least). I'm somewhat concerned on where he hits in the lineup. batting 8th in front of the pitcher and then bourne leads me to worry he won't be scoring many runs. i wonder if there's any chance he will move up in the lineup anytime soon.

what makes you say that? ausmus is only getting the occasional start and towles even caught oswalt the other day, which wasn't the original plan. how many catchers play everyday? virtually none. i don't think playing time is an issue with towles right now.

I mean, he might start slightly less than average, but I bet you he starts at C just as much as Pudge does this year, and you wouldn't ever consider Pudge not an everyday starter. They will sit occasionally for dif reasons but the net impact is the same.

Anyone else notice he seems to get hit by a lot of pitches. Wonder if Biggio has been coaching him.

Only a .207 AVG, but he has a .395 OBP right now. His AVG should come up..I'd guess around .275-.280ish
What I want to know is, can he steal 10 or so bases? Didn't he steal a good amount of bases in the minors?
Houston seems to be running A LOT..even Tejada has attempted to steal twice..and Berkman has like 3 steals..
I'd guess he hits around .275 and hits 15 hrs/65ish rbi
