Ortiz continues to struggle.

What stat line are Ortiz owners thinking we may see to end the season. Is there a chance that he can still salvage this season and have a monster season? Some people think that the Red Sox will win the WS. Big Papi needs to start hitting in order for that to happen.

Ortiz has gone .266/.359/.537 in the months of March and April for his career, compared to his .287/.382/.555 career line.
He had career highs in BA, SLG, and OPS last season with a bummed knee last year. If his knee is acting up again, I don't doubt he can do it again.

Yeah. I'm not sure there is too much else you can do.
You're definitely not going to get fair trade value for him right now.

But, IF you can, I think most people would agree to go for it. I traded him for fair value (Utley) just two days ago. I also had offers that included other 1st/2nd round picks. If you don't own him, you probably haven't realized just HOW bad he looks. There are lots of guys out there trying to out-think everyone and "buy low"... even if "low" is someone with 90% of his healthy value.

If I were going out and trying to get Ortiz, there is no way I'm throwing out a first or second round talent to get him right now.

David Ortiz is going to be fine. Yoda says that that he has solved his tax problems and so will turn it around.

Just got him for Markakis last night. I had a logjam in the OF with the emergence of J-Up so I had room to deal.

Like others have said, I'm hoping it's mental with him right now. If they went in and cleaned it up in the offseason he should be ok but maybe in his head he still has that trust hurdle to get over.

Well, it's gotta be at least partially mental right now. The AB's I saw yesterday he seemed reluctant to take the bat off his shoulder. It's tough to make decent contact if you don't swing, I'm thinking?
