Also consider that he had a two hitter through 7. If the pen hadn't had to pitch a lot of innings the game before and suck so far this season, they would have yanked V sooner-like the first walk in the 8th.

you can all blame me for his struggles, i bought a Verlander jersey this year. I thought i had finally broke the jinx by wearing it to the game in Chicago but alas, he blew up in the 8th
