I have had some complaints about this trade. I know there is no collusion, and none of the teams believe there is. I have never vetoed a trade in any league where I was commish, but I would like some other opinions.

Team 1 gets:
Manny Corpas
Orlando Hudson

Team 2 gets:
Alex Rios

Although I think Team 2 is getting the better of this deal, I don't think there is reason to veto, even though Team 2 is in first place (I know, only one week). I may post this link on the league site, so let me know what you think. Thanks.

By the way, this is a 12-team keeper league (keep up to 12).

I wouldn't veto. There's a legitimate argument, especially in a keeper league, that the values are approximate, or at least not obscene. Tell the grumblers that you understand their concern but that it is still based upon fair value.

Since it's clearly no collusion, it can be considered a fair deal made between consenting managers trying to improve their teams. Irrelevant to banter over the balance of the trade in a situation like this (it's not significantly lopsided). But for what it's worth: it's reasonable, as clearly one player is looking for saves / middle infielder and the other an OF. You are commissioner, so let them grumble. No veto, give them your reasons.

Agree with the others: definitely no veto, especially in a keeper league.

Each manager has to be able to improve his own team now, so they should be able to address position and category weaknesses even if a trade is imbalanced (not lopsided). Corpas was a 7th-8th round type of guy, Rios a 4th-5th round type of guy. Close enough with Hudson thrown in there.

And managers also need to be able to judge for themselves the future the value of a deal - this is where this being a keeper league is key. If one manager thinks that Rios is injury prone, or likely to get dealt to a pitcher's ballpark, or whatever - he might have his own reasons to devalue a guy more than others would.
