You might as well throw Joe Crede's name in there too.

Detroit's horrid start to the season gets my vote though.

You can also add the insane amount of blown saves by closers.

They've been brutal.

Putz, Ryan, C. Cordero, and R. Soriano = DL
Lidge = Just got off DL
Wagner, Jones, Saito, B. Wilson = No Chances
K-Rod, Hoffman, Street, Valverde, Corpas, Capps, Gregg, Accardo, Borowski, Gagne, Wood, Lyon = Awful

Paps, Nathan, Sherrill, Soria, Izzy, Rivera, Jenks, and F. Cordero are the only ones who haven't tanked.

Lance Berkman is the stolen base leader after 1 1/2 weeks of play for one of my teams.
Not sure if that's good or bad.... :-? :-D

Same thing happens every year so not a big one for me.

My money is on the Cardinals and Orioles but both are teams that won't keep it up so I guess they aren't such big surprises.

The biggest surprise thus far is the fact that I am not in 1st place in all my leagues yet.

NO doubt. That Maggs 0, Miggs 1, Sheff 1,and Carlos Guillen 2 would only have 4 RBI after 8 games is unreal.

Big Papi batting .091 on the season after 9 games...call it a surprise, call it disturbing, call it whatever you want, I call it not good at all....as a fan and a Papi Owner

Also surprising is the O's sitting in first place in the AL East....
