I was listening to a pre-game interview yesterday with the Brewers manager. He said that Cueto was similar to Gallardo, only "with better stuff". That's high praise coming from Gallardo's own manager!
If a fantasy draft is held today, is Cueto taken in the top 50?

I think it is still Gallardo over Cueto. Gallardo was just as good last season as Cueto has been thus far this year. Gallardo is more highly regarded prospect and Cueto has been good, but it's only 2 starts. gallardo, then Cueto.
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.
Gallardo has 110 major league innings of experience, and his minor league K/9 is a lot higher. I'd definitely go Gallardo 1st, Cueto 2nd. I'd probably trade Cueto for Gallardo and something.

Yeah, the only thing Cueto was better at than Gallardo in the minors was his BB/9. Add in that Gallardo has more MLB experience and pitches in a better home park...I'll take Yovani!

I don't think it matters anymore about which one was or is the more highly regarded prospect as both are high-ceiling starters and usually ranking prospects is a bit more of a subjective practice as there's some variance as to which prospects pan out and which don't.
As for the question, Gallardo has more seasoning in the Majors and that's the difference maker so far. Cueto has surrendered 2 HR in 2 games and it'll be interesting to see if his flyball tendencies get the best of him especially with men on base.
I have Cueto on my team, but Gallardo at least has over 100 IP in the majors, and Yovanni's home park is ever so slightly better. Most everything else I wanted to say has been said.
