He won't lose the job, his location and velocity were fine most of this last outing. He did groove in a pitch for patterson but he is not looking bad overall. He would have to blow 2 or 3 more saves in a row to lose the job but if he does my money is on Riske to get the job.
I don't care what anyone says, this guy is done. I can't believe the Brewers gave him that big contract after his implosion in Boston last season.
I am sure the Brewers will keep him in that role as long as possible due to the amount of money they gave him, but if they want to make the playoffs then they will need eat that 10 million about the mid part of May.
Gagne is on my bench from here on out. If he can get 4 straight saves I will try and trade him for Broxton or someone like that. His ERA and WHIP are absolutely killing me in close matchups.
I would not go with Riske, Torres or Turnbow. I would give Mota a chance to close games. Out of everyone I think that he has looked the best. Which I hate to say because I thought Turnbow was going to be a great closer for years with the stuff he has.
I'd look for the Russell James in your league and buy low on him myself. He went in the 15th round or so in a 14 team league and that is still a fine value for him, if you can dump your 17th round pick for him it is almost all upside.
Given the fact that Riske, Turnbow and Mota all ahve had trouble closing in their career and also the fact that Gagne is paid $10 mil, it will take a string of blown saves and tough losses before they even consider moving him out of the role.

Perhaps you figure me for a fool. Send me a lowball trade for Gagne and I will quickly reject it. Gagne is not worth anything at the moment but if he can just rattle off 4 or 5 consecutive saves then I can find somebody that will overpay for him, because many overpay for saves. With that said, Gagne will be filling a spot on my bench, unless the matchup allows me to start him. He almost cost me last week and if not for a great start by Wang I would have lost ERA and WHIP. Closers like Borowski, Jones and Gagne hurt you in tight H2H matchups.
