alex gordon was in the 3 hole the first couple games but has been dropped to the 7th spot lately. does anyone know much about this situation? i mean, come on, teahen is terrible, get him outta there. i think gordon could get 100 runs and rbi if he goes back to teh 3 spot for the rest of the season. why was he dropped in the order? he has been hitting well there, but any talk of moving him back up?

Thats pretty much right. As soon as he went to the 6 hole he has been raking pretty good. Hillman likes having his sticks spread throughout the lineup so I wouldn't be suprised if Gordon stays down the lineup for a while. He should still see plenty of RBI opportunities.....it will be his runs that take the hit.

You are talking about the same Teahen with a better OBP and better SLG than Gordon? Gordon was awful in the 3rd spot so they moved him down and put the hotter hitter there. If Gordon keeps going like he has after the switch I'm sure he will move up when Guillen gets shifted down in the lineup.
I don't have a huge problem with him lower in the order, but I do think that using Jose Guillen in the 4-hole is pretty questionable. I guess Hillman's thinking is that it will alleviate the pressure on his younger players to have a veteran filling a demanding spot in the lineup, and to be fair Butler and Gordon have both raked as a 5/6 combo.
