a nice piece on Manny this spring, arguing that Manny is still underrated by most people.
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

And he has three more hits today and homer # 501, i bet he is happy he has that monkey off his back.
BTW the fan (a Mr. Woo) gave the ball back to Manny. Then Manny today said, "I am going to take some pictures with my kids and the ball then see if i can get some money for it."

(a $20 million man certainly needs the cash). The proceeds are going to charity, so i guess that is nice.
"I do not think baseball of today is any better than it was 30 years ago... I still think Radbourne is the greatest of the pitchers." John Sullivan 1914-Old athletes never change.

I still can't believe how many Red Sox fans were at Camden yards for Manny's 500th homerun. The Sox usually travel very well, but that was ridiculous. Everyone in the stadium was cheering when it left his bat. I actually knew a few different groups of people from the northeast who flew down for the weekend series.

the place was packed with sox fans. more than half the crowd at least. my favorite part was in the 7th inning the started playing 'sweet caroline' and the board said "a special treat for you sox fans." after about 10 seconds the song shut off and it said "just kidding." quite funny

I had mix feelings about them playing Sweet Caroline, it kind of makes you wonder about the Baltimore Orioles. I mean, I think they went a little over the top by playing one of the theme songs of the Boston Red Sox. If something like that happened at Fenway I'd be a little upset as a sox fan, especially if 75% of the fans there weren't Red Sox fans. It's nice to see Red Sox fans all over the country, but I'd like the city of Baltimore support there own players a little more, I'd hate to be a Orioles player and see a sea of red instead of a sea of orange and black.
