A-Rod Shortstop eligible?

Postby BrooklynBums » Tue Apr 08, 2008 2:48 pm

This is just a rumor, but Yahoo has an article up on the possibility of Girardi moving Rodriguez over to SS while Jeter is recovering from his injury. That would be awesome for A-Rod owners, especially if they ended up with a SS outside the top 100 or so, as there are plenty of 3B on the WW that are alright. Plus, that pretty much would set him in stone as the #1 pick next year, barring a complete collapse.

I am stuck with Lugo right now at shortstop (SUCKS). And I have a-rod, figgins, and gordon who can all play 3rd. This would obviously help my team a lot, but since I am a yankee fan I'd rather see Jeter back in the lineup.

That would be great. I don't think it has much credence though. Betemit's playing SS today @KC... :~(

I don't see why Girardi would do this. Sure, it'd be awesome for fantasy, but why play A-Rod out of position? To get Morgan Ensberg in the lineup at 3rd instead of Betemit at SS?

Well yeah, think about it, even though his natural position was a SS (before he came to the Yankees), he did offer to play any position where the organization was needed. So he had to get comfortable with 3B, I am sure he could just get some refreshment in SS, although his defensive skills are going into a decline.
