I'm from St.Louis, and I would say no, No, NO! :-t Don't be fooled by one good week, they will burn you.

Kyle Lohse would be your best out of those three, but there has to be more out there if you're in need of pitching help.

I'd give Lohse a shot in an NL only or deep mixed league but I wouldn't touch the other two.

I do not recommend any of those starters. I am an avid Twins fan and I remember plenty of outings watching Loshe blow up in my face allowing hit after extra base hit. I even tried to follow him once he left the Twins because he did have some talent, but he is a fly ball pitcher and this will always come back to bite him in his butt in at least 9 out of 10 outings he has.

One nice start in the beginning of the year doesn't warrant high praise. Many batters are still trying to find their stroke, and this is most beneficial to mediocre starting pitchers.

Edit from razzball.com

Kyle Lohse - He’s 29. Don’t think he suddenly turned the corner into Worthwhile-ville. Twins don’t trade away good pitching prospects; they acquire them.

Pick up Lohse for his start Friday against the Giants. After that, forget all 3 of them.

I wouldn't be too down on these guys. Lohse has been great this year and Wellemeyer has done well. Not to mention that last year was Wellemeyer's first year getting some starts with 11 in total and not on regular time usually and he posted a 3.11 ERA on the year. While starting (49.1 IP) he posted a 3.65 ERA with 1.35 WHIP while striking out 36.

Now I am not saying he is anything great, but he might be good for a fill in player while someone is on the DL as he might be moved to the bullpen when the Cardinals get Mulder/Pineiro/Clement/Carpenter get back.......and three of those should be back before the end of May.

Only one I am watching is Wellemeyer, which is the only one I have after I pick started him against a team they had an advantange from (kind of forgot who). But still, don't go crazy after a first week or so.

I had a couple years of watching him in Chicago. He never showed impressive stuff, and was never more than an average to below-average middle reliever. Unless he drastically changed something last season I wouldn't expect anything more in the long run.
