Here is how the A's should treat Harden

Have him only start home games. Immediately after the game, put him in a homeostasis chamber full of soft pillows and workout equipment. Simply leave him there limit him to as little movement as possible.

It was good while it lasted Harden. Thank you for a lovely two starts. Your body is less durable than that of a dollar store action figure.

One of the A's pregame announcers gave Harden a really great nickname a few years ago... He calls him the "Cy Young of simulated games," since obviously he's thrown so many of them, and he always looks great during them.

No Harden on Saturday?

Harden said the strain is under his arm on his right side and that he still feels it when he throws. If he can't go on Saturday, the A's will probably use Lenny DiNardo instead.

On the A's pregame show, Geren said he would make a decision on Harden tomorrow(Thursday the 10th), currently he's still penciled in as the starter on Saturday, but lets just say that pencil has a very large eraser on it.

I am telling you, there is no way Harden avoids the DL with this issue. The Subscapularis is one of the more difficult muscles to treat in the entire shoulder complex due to its location under the shoulder blade. Not only that, but the Subscapularis forcefully decelerates the shoulder when it is rotating externally as the pitcher brings the arm to the 'high cocking phase'.

Well it was fun while it lasted...at least I got two quality starts out of him for the year. Next step 15 day dl, then moved to the 60 day dl.
