I just can't see that happening. It would cause too much controversy when people remember that ARod is 10x the shortstop that Jeter is. The Yankees wouldn't do that to their captain and homegrown treasure. BTW, I'm a huge Yankee fan so I'm not just hating on Jeter cause he's a Yankee.
Finally The Rock has come back....to New York City!!

From Rotoworld:
Apr. 8 - 4:27 pm et
The Yankees don't expect to have Derek Jeter (quad) back before the series against the Red Sox beginning on Friday.

"It's hard to say," manager Joe Girardi said. "He probably won't play in this series, and we'll shoot for the Red Sox series. We'll see where he's at after a couple of days and try to make a real evaluation. ... We feel that it's not going to be two weeks. We're hoping sometime in the Boston series he'll be ready, but we'll have to see how he progresses." Wilson Betemit will play shortstop tonight. Girardi said moving Alex Rodriguez to shortstop is something that hasn't been discussed.

The New York Post reports that Derek Jeter (quadriceps) will likely miss Friday's game against the Red Sox.

The Yankees had hoped to have Jeter back in time to open the Red Sox series, but the newspaper notes that Jeter "has just played catch since suffering the injury" Monday.
