I'm surprised no one has mentioned the money factor. Vlad just received a big fat paycheck & Beltran is working towards his.

I vote Beltran.

I don't see Beltran going to the Yankees. They would be much better served going for Bret Boone at the trade deadline (or another 2B). I could see him much more likely going to the Dodgers if they're anywhere near the playoff picture. And if he goes to that park, his value drops.

Go with Vlad, at least for this year.

I would go with Beltran, not least because back injuries are recurring. But also because steals are worth much more than hrs in fantasy baseball.

i have vlad ahead of him in my rankings, but the more i think about it i can see beltran edging him because of the Sb's. vlad wont steal more than 20 this year IMO. I have beltran in my keeper league and im not complaining.

Neither. If Helton was gone, I'd grab Prior. OF is one of the easiest spots to fill IMO.

util - m. giles

i am thinking of trading vlad for beltran str8 up with a guy in my league as he needs power badly, and i figure i have enough power if i go from vlad to beltran. if you were in my spot would you prefer beltran or vlad?

As much as I love Beltran I would vote for Vlad. I think his power numbers will be better.
