Pat "The Bat" Burrell

Postby TheGinner » Mon Apr 07, 2008 3:19 pm

Burrell seems to be hitting the ball quite well so far this year. Is this the year he finally lives up to his 1st overall draft position, or am I just getting my hopes up that I got a steal in the 18th? X-I

2 bombs today must've tickled your fancy.

I would imagine he'll be his usual streaky self...

I would not be so sure. Money talks, and I believe Burrell has a chance at big money if he can put together a quality season. IMO, He is Adam Dunn "Lite".

Hopefully he keeps it up, hes carrying my team while granderson is on the DL.

Granderson can't carry a team even when healthy. He can't drive in enough runs with his bat.

Meant outfield versus really carrying my whole team and also just being a good replacement. I have Vlad and Chris Young out there with burrell. Don't expect a lead off hitter to get a lot of RBI's, but once detroit picks it up ill get a lot of runs out of granderson hopefully.

I also got him late, but now feel pretty good about him being my #3 outfielder. Hopefully he stays hot.

burrell has always been a frustrating player to own for me. i got him for cheap so he's got good value to me. lets hope he keeps it up.

(he's probably going to go ice cold now that i've plugged him in my lineup)

I never said he wouldn't be good. I said he'd be streaky. Just like Adam Dunn.

Yep, I've owned him off and on the past 3 years, always frustrating. There's always been that voice in my head that says, "This is the year" right before a 0-20 slump.

Well here's that voice again. Maybe he can pull some consistancy out of his arse for once.
