My Local Paper is the Worse!

Postby ZAZ » Mon Apr 07, 2008 12:54 pm

I just got back from a couple weeks in Asia and immediately checked the baseball standings in my local paper. I know things are tough at newspapers these days, but these idiots printed the AL East standings upside down!! They got Baltimore on top and Boston on the bottom! What idiots, this better correct itself soon since I'm not aware of any other way to find out the standings in baseball.

I am disappointed that I did not get to make a smarty-pants remark on said grammar mistake.

I was going to field that one, but I figured I'd allow you the satisfaction. :-D

Mine has Joe Crede's stats absolutely wrong. Obviously he's playing his way out of the lineup to make room for Josh Fields, but I'm reading an article that says he already has 10 RBIs. If I wanted to read a rag like this, I'd have picked up the National Enquirer.

That's nothing. My local paper this winter reported that the Yankees balked at trading away quality youngsters for a proven All Star.

Anyone can mix up a couple of numbers, but how do you miswrite an entire story?
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

Here in the Big Apple nobody can get it right. They have the Orioles, A's, Cards, and Marlins in first place and the Tigers at 2-10.
