On a side note, I did see Ankiel throw a ball in from the warning track the other day. He hit the cutoff man on the glove. He threw the ball so hard that it never had any arc on it. It was a straight line from the wall to second base - and the cutoff man dropped it.

The guy still has a cannon. :-°

He seems to be getting better at judging the strike zone. I still don't think he is going to hit for average because he is a such a pull hitter.

I'm sure it helps that Poo Holes is batting behind him.

I was at the game the other night and Rick actually batted after Albert. I like it better when he does, mainly bb/c Glaus is worthless so far (yet still worth more than Rolen).

I've never been a fan....always thought he would struggle to even hit .250. With that said he has looked pretty good thus far....I still expect a fall off though....we'll see.

actually i don't understand why so many people hate Ankiel & love Hamilton

they both came back from the "grave" and fans usually love these stories

He's been a waiver wire dandy for me this year.

He, Justin Upton and Derrek Lee carried my team last week.

It looks like Ankiel has indeed fallen off. How would you guys project him now?

Nothing has changed IMO. He's still a 30 HR type hitter but for one reason or another he is a much better hitter at home. :-?

over the last month (100 AB) he has: 13 HR 24 RBI .340 avg

What are some thoughts for the 2nd half? he should easily get to 35 HR

also, he has 3 more road HR and 7 more RBIs this season with a .008 BA differential
