My league has been tinkering with stat categories for years, and this year we've decided on the standard Yahoo! categories, plus OPS and K/BB. Do you guys think this is a good addition, or does it place too much emphasis on power hitting? Would just the defaults be better?

Both of them are good catagories to add.....I don't think it will over weight hitting.... :-)

I think those are good categories to add.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

I think OPS overweights the power hitters a bit much, personally. I thought about adding OBP, but that does the same thing. I finally settled on adding K's for batters in my 6x6 yahoo league (which still has only 1 manager - wish me luck in filling it out before the live draft). To me, that tends to weight things toward contact hitters, without taking anything away from speed guys or power guys (assuming that they can also hit for contact).

OPS does weight a bit too much toward power, which hurts my team, but my league likes it a lot, so I'd never be able to get rid of it. As for a category like Ks, I don't like anything that penalizes you from playing all your guys all the time.
