Felix should go in and say, nice move skipper.
As soon as Felix wasn't coming out, i knew there was a great chance they would yield 2 runs, do deny him the win. They did worse. They yielded 3 runs.

King Felix asked to be taken out, the disruption to his normal throwing routine left him fatigued after giving his team 8 innings.

The only thing you can argue about is whether he should have sent Lowe out there at the beginning of the inning. Considering Lowe was a situational reliever until about 3-4 days ago, it makes sense to go w/ the leftie-leftie matchup until he was really needed. The simple fact was that Lowe was in a situation where he could have closed the game and he blew it.

McLaren is the mgr. He knew he had no Putz. Felix was pitching on his normal 4 days rest. He should have told Felix to go start the 9th, and see how it goes. No sp is probably feeling 100% after 97 pitches. If Felix asked to be taken out, that is infortunate. A true horse needs the mindset to go 9. McLaren is still the boss. He could have asked, or told Felix, try to give me more.
