I know there's been a little hype around Doumit since last summer, and some even considered him a sleeper catcher this year.
I know it's only 5 games, but he's started at catcher 3 times, to Paulino's 2, has more ABs and hits then Paulino (Batting .533) and even has a HR.
From what I've read, Paulino is the superior defensively and the OF is already crowded as is. Will they be making room for this guy every day? Or is there a pattern of who he catches? Any insight would help. Thanks!

I read somewhere that Doumit would catch mostly righties but others may have better info. Pirates manager said he'd start whichever he thought would give them the best shot.
I'm a Doumit owner and also interested in this question - I have Benjie Molina as my #1 catcher.

He's started today with Snell. Another hit and another RBI in his 2nd AB.

I too am a B. Molina owner, I don't like trading the idea of trading one backstop for another, but Molina looks like an injury risk. I don't have any other fat to trim on my team right now. I would rather get more out of Doumit who is available in less at bats per week. Is he worth it?

It looked like Doumit would only start against righties but today he is making his second start against a lefty.

Interesting to know that Paulino is 6 for 8 vs Lilly too.
That's a bit strange. They must be real down on Paulino.

I think he has proved that he is a gamer and can the job done so he is being rewarded.

Yep, hopefully he can stay healthy.
