edit: no, i really am wondering. i see all this potential for steals and some power, at least a sufferable average, and loads of runs scored. why, on a fantasy baseball message board, do people pee in his face? i don't get it. must be the proliferation of all you stinkin' cubs fans.

in reality, patterson's not blocking bruce; griffey is.

Quickly becoming a fan favorite. Looking pretty darn good at the plate and in the field. Enough to secure his job for quite some time I think.

It's looking more and more like Bruce will get his shot as Griffey or Dunn's replacement in '09.

Jay Bruce if a fine player, but as far as who is the better prospect I like Evan a little better.

I actually like Maybin a little better then Bruce. Just my thoughts.

Well, I watched Patterson for 2 years with the O's. He's pretty terrible at the plate, pretty awesome at stealing bases and lots of fun to watch in center. No way he should be leading off for anybody with his lack of plate discipline, but he's probably pretty decent for fantasy purposes if you don't play in an OBP league like I do.

Patterson's a power/speed tease, but his plate discipline hasn't improved any (even during his '04 breakout year), which makes him a suspect leadoff hitter when he isn't known to generate walks regularly when he's not swinging.
