Tough Choice...

Postby DK » Sun Feb 22, 2004 3:04 pm

I have the 3rd pick in a draft. Chances are A-Rod and Pujols would go 1-2. I don't want the third pick, but it's not really my choice.

Question is:

Vlad, Prior, Soriano, Beltran, Helton?

I'm leaning toward one of the first three.

If you dream about Prior, why not spice up your season with him?

What are the league settings?

Talk of Soriano possibly playing OF or SS will only help his fantasy value, and I think a move out of NY will help him.

Now, if he could only lay off those pitches low and away...

That's the thing. I can barely imagine what Prior may be able to do this season, but I don't know if Soriano will be a better option in hitter-friendly Arlington.

I don't see how Soriano's potential position eligability is going to help his value too much.

Sure it would be nice to have if your starting SS goes down and you have a better backup 2b than SS, but I cannot think of too many occations where playing Soriano anywhere besides 2b on a regular basis is going to help your team out much.

Maybe you can bump his value up 50 cents. But is that something that really worth noting in an arguement?

Ah, well that would make Soriano lose quite a bit of value, and Prior shouldn't have too many losses with the Cubs improved lineup.

Taking Prior may be a good idea in that league, especially if you think he'll have a better year.

One thing to watch for, if Soriano does play some OF, his FPCT will rocket, so keep an eye on that.
