Look pretty good tonight; fooled a lot of hitters. 5 IP, 4H, 1 ER, 2 BB and 6 K's. Does anyone think he can provide some decent numbers this season? Something like 165 K's, 4.00 ERA, and 1.25 WHIP?

I'd say this is attainable, but maybe his stamina isn't up to par to be more then a 5-6 inning starter per each time out. Of course, it's probably expected from the transition from reliever to starter.

However, I think in the 5th, they had the trainer take a look at him. Dunno if that kind of derailed his good night, though.. but he did leave in the 6th with the bases juiced and no one out, and thankfully only 1 ER to his record.

But don't get me wrong, he was cruising through 4.

I had him benched tonight, but his line looks great. I'm hoping he'll keep it up because I certainly don't plan on dropping him after this performance.

I listened to some of this game, and most of it sounded like he was pitching really really well.
He had a speed wobble where the trainers and Geren came out to check a phantom injury, but I think he's OK.

Oops, I was mis-informed.

Yahoo wrote:OAKLAND, Calif. (AP)—Justin Duchscherer allowed one run in five innings in his first start since 2003, helping the Oakland Athletics to a 6-3 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Friday night that was tempered by the right-hander leaving the game with biceps tendinitis.
