Chad Cordero goes to DL

"Cordero (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day DL on Friday evening with right shoulder tendonitis, the Associated Press reports."

Just yesterday they were saying he could be back on Sunday...anyone know more information?

Wondering if anyone has heard any status on the Washington closer. Supposedly he was going to pitch some minor ball today, but I can't find any info.

I;ve suplemented with rauch but all I seem to get with him are random wins. (only opening day atually)

Actually he pitched in a minor league game yesterday and they are going to see how he feels today. If he feels fine then Cordero will be activated tomorrow (friday).

Chad Cordero activated from DL

Nationals activated RHP Chad Cordero from the 15-day disabled list.
The plan was for Cordero to make one appearance in a setup role before returning as closer, but there's no way of knowing whether that will really materialize. Jon Rauch will move back into a setup role, if not immediately then by the middle of next week.
