I cannot believe this rag-tag bunch of SPs has allowed TWO runs in the past four games combined! Now, if we could only get a guy that could pitch more than 5-6 innings, we'd be in great shape. At this pace the bullpen pitcher's arms are going to fall off by May.

The Cardinals are young and exciting in the outfield. The success of this team is going to depend on Ankiel, Ludwick, Barton, Schumaker and Rasmus (if he comes up at some point) hitting. Right now, Ankiel looks like a monster (I still can't believe it) and Ludwick and Barton provide a lot more than what we had been getting from Edmonds and Encarnacion over the last couple years.

It's still early, but they were hitting all spring and it looks to be carrying over. The NL Central is weak, which also helps...

We don't look too good on paper, but if we can hover around .500 for awhile and then get our rotation healthy, I like this young offense. I think Barton and Schumaker may actually be spark plugs at the top of the lineup and I think Ankiel, Duncan, and Glaus will provide adequate protection for Pujols. If we win 85 games or so we could win the NL Central.

Now, the rational baseball fan in me (not the irrational Cardinals fan) thinks this team will probably be about 10 games under .500 when we finally get healthy. Baby faced Brad Thompson and ratty hair-all-over-the-place Todd Wellemeyer can only pitch well for so long. A rational prediction for this team is probably 70-75 wins, but that's not fun to dream about, is it?

No matter how good they are Duncan and La Russa will hold them back because they are retarded (Anthony Reyes anyone?)
Chris Duncan can't control himself in the gym, so he'll be lucky for 300 ABs this year - but he is quite good.
75 wins is the maximum for them this year. The sooner they get a real manager the better.
