Hampton Already Out

Postby RedHopeful » Thu Apr 03, 2008 7:14 pm

Watching the pregame of the Braves v. Pirates and Hampton's already out. The camera's caught him in the bullpen grimacing after a pitch. The commentators have no info at this time so who knows whats up, but I say he's out for the year considering his past. :-b :-o

Well the good thing is, no one could have been actually counting on him, except for Braves only pitching leagues.

All this talk on ESPN about the Braves winning the division...pitching pitching pitching. The only ones you can count on are Smoltz & Hudson. Glavine blows when you need him the most and Hampton's a risk every single time out. The rook might be okay but who knows.

From Rotoword:

The Braves are calling Mike Hampton day-to-day with a strained pectoral muscle after he was scratched from his outing Thursday.
It's always going to be something. If Hampton can't go next week, Jeff Bennett, who is filling in tonight, could make a second start.

Not sure. Saw the video of him pulling up in the bullpen, grimacing in pain. Someone on another site said they heard strained pec but I didn't hear it myself.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Chuck is in the minors, think he is recovering from an injury.

5 starters before Hampton injury = Smoltz, Hudson, Glavine, Jair, Hampton.

Smoltz is pitching Sunday's game. Guys like Bennett, Buddy, JoJo will probably take the #5 spot until Chuck is ready
