Late seasons speed FA's?

Postby kingmike74 » Thu Apr 03, 2008 10:38 am

Come this July, how easy to you think it will be this year to find a guy that swipes a 2+ bags a week?

I am thinking of adding Taveras but remember last year when Taveras was on and off the Ww numerous times.

I like to save my 2 RS spots for the "next big thing"

I like Tavaras, but I do think there will be enough Owenses, Dave Roberts and Ryan Freels on the WW during that you can pick them up when healthy and get some SBs.

That said I think Tavaras is being undervalued (compare where he went in drafts with Juan Pierre considering they are similar players except Pierre is older and fighting for playing time and top of the order status) and he is a guy that I like using through April and maybe trading/packaging later on when he gets some SBs under his belt and his value gets closer to where it should be. Then you could pick up Longoria, Fields, Salty, Bruce, Headely or whoever your NBT is at that time.

Unless you have someone you just have to hold onto right now.

I know this one's a little nutty, but I did see Podsednik get a PH AB last night. He's probably not going to be worth much, but the guy did steal 70 bags... I wouldn't pick him up, but keep an eye on his progress. There's a chance (albeit a very small one) he makes some waves...

This may turn out to be nothing, but it's worth at least knowing the name................
