Lyon just blew another save opportunity. Arizona must do get this guy back to AAA where he belongs. I just dropped him in favor of Pena.

Pena pitched 1 inning last night. He gave up 2 hits, 1 BB, and 2 K's, with no earned runs.

Lyon cost me a lot today. Came in trailing 7-6, Soria got the lead in saves, Lee helping me in wins and K's and Cruz was in good shape to get the win. If Lyon held on to the lead in the ninth, it would have been 7-7. Of course Brandon "tee me off" Lyon give up a one out HR to Holliday to tie the game. How did this effect me? My opponent had Qualls, got the save, my opponent ties me in saves and wins 7-6.

Guy was solid setting up Valverde last year.....let's not demote him yet. He also has closer experience which is why he got the job. But i think the better move would be Pena closing with Lyon setting him up. ;-D

Unfortunately for Pena he is needed as a setup man and if anything Qualls will get the save opps. However I think Lyon gets another shot or two at the job.

his manager just gave lyon a vote of confidence. that said, i'll still tread carefully iwth him. he can turn your pitching week in the wrong direction real fast haha

Not sure how you can really say that with any confidence.
Pena's always been the guy to take over as closer, and one appearance by Qualls a day after Pena threw a lot of pitches, doesn't really mean much. Who knows, Qualls could end up being the guy, but it's incorrect to say that if anything Qualls will get the save opps.

Anyway, I doubt they would take Lyon out of the closer role and move him all the way down to middle relief. He did a great job as the set up man last year, and I would say they'd put him back there, moving Pena up as the closer.
