God... Kazmir was down in the beginning of the season, now I got Pedro down and now this guy. Walking hospital!

I avoided drafting Putz last year because I thought he would be injured, then he practically won the cy young. Now I draft him and he's hurt....WTF

As for his replacement, I like Lowe to take most of the save opps because he has the kind of power makeup that is well suited for the closer role, and also induces the ground ball which limits home runs. Second in line is Green who is a more extreme ground ball pitcher. Still, I don't see how any of these guys can be more than emergency options. If Putz is out for a significant amount of time, maybe Batista makes his way back to the closer role? If he's back in a couple weeks, I'm sure they'll just play the hot hand.

Lost V-Mart and now Putz...plus have Duncan hurting (my replacement til Granderson gets back).
Yet I am still in striking distance (would be up if Sheets could have gotten a decision...same with Haren)

they're not giving any sort of definite timeline, though he's suppossedly going to try to throw a little today, so cross your fingers for minimal or no pain so he can start to progress his rehab...

usually the ways this works, barring setbacks:

1 - throw 1 or 2 bullpen sessions
2 - throw 2 or 3 minor league games
3 - activated from DL


he is scheduled to play toss in the outfield today - so still at least 10-12 days away.
