What does that usually mean in terms of recovery time and injury type? Does that mean that it's a tear? how long does that take to come back from? I have him on my fantasy squad but I'm more concerned as a Met and Pedro fan. My team will survive without Pedro but it hurts the Mets.
The pop isn't necessarily indicative of the severity, but his reaction to it definitely was. Either it is a pretty significant injury, or he has a very low pain tolerance.
Obviously, the legs are extremely important for pitchers. The hamstrings are especially important, to help the pitcher achieve maximum push off, which transfers up the body to the arm. Judging strictly from his reaction, I would say he will be out at least 3-4 weeks.
