Yeah they just said that he heard a pop. Ugh.

What does that usually mean in terms of recovery time and injury type? Does that mean that it's a tear? how long does that take to come back from? I have him on my fantasy squad but I'm more concerned as a Met and Pedro fan. My team will survive without Pedro but it hurts the Mets.

The pop isn't necessarily indicative of the severity, but his reaction to it definitely was. Either it is a pretty significant injury, or he has a very low pain tolerance.

Obviously, the legs are extremely important for pitchers. The hamstrings are especially important, to help the pitcher achieve maximum push off, which transfers up the body to the arm. Judging strictly from his reaction, I would say he will be out at least 3-4 weeks.

The pop is bad. You don't want to hear the pop.

Raise your hand if you thought Pedro would have an injury free season. Anyone? Anyone? Crickets......

A Pedro injury should shock no one and I seriously doubt this will be his only injury this season. When you draft an injury prone player you have to expect these things and have only yourself to blame if you didn't.

One team in my league has Hamels, Sheets, Pedro and Harden. Talk about playing with fire. It would not shock me at all if all 4 were on the DL at the same time at some point this season.

I admit, i was only expecting 125 to 150 innings this year from pedro but was hoping he'd get past April 1 with no issues. Sounds and looks like a strained/torn hamstring. Probably 3-4 weeks, but given it's Pedro I wouldn't be surprised at 6 weeks.

Pray for solid results of the MRI. :-o I heard on some sports talk show that pops will commonly sideline a player for a couple of months.... X-I
