matsui is in the 8 hole for the yanks tonight. definitely a big downer for his owners. kinda hard to project him for his usuall 200 combined runs and rbi's.

Yeah, that really hurts. I had him pegged for another nice year. The good news is, if you're going to bat 8 in a lineup, New York's is the one to do it in. I was very surprised to see Giambi in the 5 hole, though. What was that all about?

H-Mat was falling a lot in the drafts and i picked him up in couple leagues, so he was a somewhat of a bargain for me. i wouldn't be that upset about this because it's still the yankees lineup and their lower part of the lineup is still pretty good and he'll drive in some runs. he might stay healthy easier now that he's a DH.

RBI opps. will still be there for him, just last night he was up with the bases loaded but grounded into what should have been a DP but Aaron Hill made an error on the play and a run scored, I think DH is well suited for him too

I think Matsui is very underrated going into this year, and starting out in the 8-hole means that he'll be even more so, at least until he starts putting up numbers.

You can think of him hitting 8th, or you can think of him hitting behind Cano and Posada, who are the 3 and 4 hitters for many teams.
