Bottom tier closers

Postby RynMan » Sat Feb 21, 2004 11:45 pm

i have found myself after the draft with a great hitting team, very good starters but CRAP relievers. i have jason isringhauson! and thats it. i want to grad some bottom tier closers that are sleepers, that no1 knows about and that will probably still be in my free agent pool. i have put in to pick up Kolb, and Sahun Chacon is still in there. i think they are two worth grabbing (urbina is there too but til he finds a team he's out). are they any others i should look at?

PS Joe nathan is on a guys team but i dunno if he knows that he will be the twins closer - may look ata a trade for him....

It seems as if the people in your league arent too "into" fantasy baseball if Kolb, Chacon, and Urbina didnt get drafted, but I may be wrong. I would still draft Urbina or pick him up cuz he will find a team, someday. I think all of those are formidable choices. Also maybe if u cant get those guys Fernando Rodney.. i think fernando is his first name, tigers closer, i know the tigers, but hey he'll get some saves. (I had a bad experience with a Tigers closer last year. Matt Anderson, I needed saves bad, only ended up with 6 the entire year so I traded for Anderson. Got sent down in like a month.) But anyways, you should be able to find something.

Graves would probably still be there...though i'm not sure how many save chances the Reds will give him.

They just added Nen today in the roster list...you'd have to get him on waivers. Of course this is assuming he can even come back and pitch.

Kolb would be a nice pickup!

And if you've got enough roster room, maybe take a chance on Urbina.

I have seen a couple of drafts where Justin Spieir was left out also....might want to look at him.... :-)
